Our Story
Dr. McSurdy, Dr. Boyle & Team began in 1989 with a commitment to do orthodontic care differently, by pairing clinical excellence with an experience that feels personal from the first visit. Over the years, the practice has grown into a trusted local name in Collegeville, Gilbertsville, and the surrounding Greater Philadelphia area.

Dr. David W. McSurdy
Dr. David McSurdy is the founder and owner of our practice, and his philosophy still shapes how we care for patients today. He earned his dental degree from Temple University School of Dentistry and completed orthodontic training at Fairleigh Dickinson University. After decades of serving the community, Dr. McSurdy has retired from daily patient care, but his legacy continues through the systems, standards, and culture he built.
Dr. Vincent Boyle
Dr. Boyle is an expert orthodontist known for thoughtful planning and straightforward guidance. He completed his undergraduate studies at Villanova University, earned his dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania, and completed advanced orthodontic training at the Medical University of South Carolina. Patients appreciate his calm, thorough approach and his focus on creating stable, healthy smiles rather than focusing on just straighter teeth.
Meet Our Fantastic Team
From the front desk to the treatment chair, our team makes orthodontics feel simple, organized, and supportive. We’re known for explaining options clearly, keeping wait times short, and creating a welcoming environment for kids, teens, and adults alike.
Abbey has been an Orthodontic Assistant since 2021. Her favorite part of the job is helping patients feel comfortable in the chair and confident in their smiles! Outside of the office, she is a creative spirit who loves drawing and painting. She also thrives in the outdoors and loves spending quality time with her friends.
Ashley joined our team in 2014 and serves as our Financial Coordinator. She enjoys welcoming new patients to our office and building trusting relationships with our ortho families. Outside of work, Ashley and her husband cherish their time with their 5 children and especially love the beach, glamping, and movie nights.
Brian has been an integral member of our team for over 30 years. Brian wears many hats around the office but is usually working behind the scenes as our Office Manager, Lab Technician, and Chief Problem Solver. Outside the office, Brian likes to build things and spend time with his family.
Donna has been part of our practice for 12 years and brings over 40 years of experience in orthodontics! She loves watching our patient’s smiles transform and helping make every appointment a great experience. Outside of work, Donna enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and being surrounded by her many pets.
Emma joined our team in 2021, bringing more than 10 years of experience in the dental field. She loves orthodontics because she gets to witness the excitement and confidence that come with each patient’s new smile. Outside the office, Emma enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.
Jen joined our office in 2024 with 18 years of previous orthodontic experience. Jen connects outstandingly with our patients and makes taking X-rays and pictures a fun, positive experience. In her spare time, Jen loves the beach, reading a good book, and spending time with her husband and two boys.
Katie has been in the dental field for 20 years, 10 in general dentistry and 10 in orthodontics. She truly loves helping patients feel more confident through their smile transformations. When she’s not at work, you will find her spending time with her husband, 3 kids, and 4 precious grandbabies!
Mary has been a valuable member of our team since 1999. As a Treatment Coordinator, she is one of the first people you will meet when you visit our practice. Her favorite part of orthodontics is building trusting relationships with our patients and watching their beautiful smile transformations. Mary’s pride and joy is her grandchildren, but also loves bike riding and the beach.
Stevie joined our team in 2026, bringing with her 4 years of dental experience. Her favorite part about her job is seeing patients gain confidence and leave the office smiling. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time at the beach, spending time with her cat and dogs, and making memories with her family.
Tiffany has been an integral member of our team since 1997, serving as a Clinical Assistant and New Patient Coordinator. Tiffany’s favorite part of orthodontics is watching patients develop beautiful new smiles and seeing how it boosts their self-esteem. Outside of work, Tiffany resides in the Boyertown area and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Valerie has been a valued member of the office for 10 years, and her favorite part of orthodontics is welcoming patients and helping them get started – especially those who may be feeling a little nervous. She loves making patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their orthodontic journey. Outside of the office, Valerie enjoys cooking, painting, and spending time outdoors with her two boys, Damon and Jace, her husband Victor, and their Goldendoodle, Nova.
