Just What Is Invisalign? Invisalign® is a brand of clear removable aligners developed by Align Technology in 1998. Clear removable aligners have been used for decades as “retainers” at the end of orthodontic treatment to hold the teeth in their new positions. Invisalign® provides software and technology that allows a patient’s crooked and misplaced teeth to move in stages. Each stage is a new set of aligners.
