Just What Is Invisalign? Invisalign® is a brand of clear removable aligners developed by Align Technology in 1998. Clear removable aligners have been used for decades as “retainers” at the end of orthodontic treatment to hold the teeth in their new positions.  Invisalign® provides software and technology that allows a patient’s crooked and misplaced teeth to move in stages.  Each stage is a new set of aligners.  Typically, patients are required to wear their aligners for 22 hours a day and only remove them for meals and tooth brushing. The aligners are changed every 2 weeks with each set gradually moving your teeth into the prescribed place as planned by your Orthodontist. The Importance of Balance: Controlling Habits

I know…this one seems like a no brainer! If you’re not balanced, you fall over. It’s that simple. The trouble is that sometimes it is hard to realize when you are losing that perfect balance. If we could only sense that loss of perfect balance, then we could adjust and stay right in perfect order. Take our teeth for example. We might have old fillings that may be starting to break down or deteriorate – unbeknown to us! That’s why it’s important to see the dentist regularly to check our teeth and restored teeth. Plus, our habits can throw us out of balance. Like drinking too many sugary drinks that can cause decay or undermine our dental fillings. Or neglecting our tooth brushing after eating. We are starting this blog to be able to interact with some of our favorite people, our patients. We will publish posts that entertain, inform and help to keep life fun and interesting. Reading is like exercise for your brain. A great summer reading book is The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews. It is one of my all time favorites. It is only about 200 pages long, and it teaches some great lessons that you can learn from. I use ideas from that book everyday!
