Did you know that Smile Direct club was started in 2013 by four businessmen from Nashville, TN? Smile Direct club offers simple orthodontic treatment – limited to the front 6 teeth for mild crowding or spacing. The patient completes an online questionnaire and buys a $95 impression kit. They take their own impression and take 7 photographs of their teeth at different angles. The doctors who are employed by SDC submit the treatment plan to Align technology to make the aligners which are then mailed to the patient.  The patient then orders retainers as well which are made by Align. Referral Program

Starting January 16th we will be changing our rewards program. As always, we want to thank you for sending your family and friends to our office. Please see below how the program has changed. We are looking forward to implementing this program and giving out some awesome prizes!  When you refer any non-family member to our office (and they start active treatment*) you will be rewarded two ways: A $25 gift card to a retailer of your choice. A chance to enter the grand prize drawing.  The grand prize is a Fuji Film Instax 70 Camera. There will be two winners, one per office location. *Active treatment is considered traditional braces or Invisalign.

Brace Friendly Recipe

Try this delicious Pumpkin Pie Smoothie recipe, a great treat especially for patients with braces on!  For more Orthodontic-Friendly holiday recipes that will make you smile go to www.mylifemysmile.org/recipes. Pumpkin Pie Smoothie (8 8-ounce servings)  1-15 ounce can of pure pumpkin  ¾ cup whole milk  ¼ cup half and half  1 cup vanilla yogurt  ¼ cup of brown sugar, or more if you like it sweeter  ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice  1 cup ice  Whipped cream and crumbled graham crackers for topping Combine pumpkin, milk, half and half, yogurt, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice in blender. Blend until mixture is smooth. Add ice and blend again. Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream and crumbled graham crackers.

Are Dentists and Orthodontists the Same?

When it comes to getting your teeth straightened, you need to know the difference between dentists and orthodontists. It’s important to know that all orthodontists are dentists, but not all dentists are orthodontists. This is because the dentistry profession, like medicine, is divided into primary care dentists and specialists. All dentists attend college, usually for four years, then attend another four years of dental school.
